Introduction

The biennial meeting of the International Conference on Coatings on Glass will be held November 3 - 7, 2002. The location of the conference is Braunschweig, Germany.

Following in the footsteps of the Institue of New Materials (INM), Saarbrücken, Germany, and The Netherlands Organization of Applied Scientific Research (TNO), Eindhoven, The Netherlands, who most successfully hosted the previous conferences, this conference will now be organized in Braunschweig by the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST and Fraunhofer Institute for Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP.

The organizing committee of ICCG invites all scientists, technologists and managers from universities, research institutes, coating manufacturers, material suppliers, equipment suppliers and user industries in the area of coated glass and plastics to participate in this conference.

The conference is designed as a forum for both Research and Development topics, ranging from new scientific discoveries to specific problems and solutions in the application of coatings in production. In addition, topics will be presented on market and business issues in the field of advanced coatings on glass and plastics for large-area or high-volume products.

61 oral papers will be presented in 6 sessions, 11 of them will be keynote lectures and 9 invited lectures. 46 posters will be displayed and discussed during two poster sessions.

In the run-up to the conference, experts in the field of coatings on glass and plastics will give short courses on specific conference topics.
